"I recently bought an ASUS P5G41T-M LX motherboard and I installed Windows 7
Ultimate 64bit on the WD HDD what was inside the system that moment.
Now I would like to migrate the whole operating system with Paragon Migrate OS to
SSD to a brand new Samsung 830 Series SSD 128GB without the need of reinstalling
    everything.
My motherboard unfortunately doesn't support AHCI in its BIOS, I can't find anything like it, there is only an option under ATA/IDE Configuration like Enhanced, so I choosed it with the [S-ATA+P-ATA] option. So my question is:
Will my N10/ICH7 Family Serial ATA Storage Controller (which I can see under Device
Manager) support the TRIM command despite the fact that my SSD will have to
operate in IDE emulation mode under Windows7?"

    "Dear Valued Customer,
The ICH7 chipset which is on this motherboard doesn't support AHCI funtion only ICH7R which able to provide AHCI like it is presented on the official Intel documentation.
However AHCI does only the following: It provides 'hot-swapping' facilities, as well as Native Command Queuing which can improve performance slightly for mechanical hard disks, but can slow down SSDs.
On the other hand the TRIM command is dependent on the SSD itself, and the operating system supporting it. It is not dependent on the host controller, and AHCI is not a requirement. TRIM is natively supported in Windows 7, as well as Linux since kernel 2.6.33."
