"Samsung expected to sell about 60 million smartphones this quarter"

"No manufacturer in the world comes even close to Samsung's variety of smartphones, available for any budget. Thus, it's no wonder that it became a one-stop-shop for Android users, and as a consequence, it represents the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world. A study made by our friends over at UBS financial analytics indicate that about 61.5 million units will be sold in the final 3 month period of 2012. This would represent an important record, since no other manufacturer managed to ship more than 60 million units in a single quarter.

However, it should not come as a surprise, considering that Samsung shipped some 57 million handsets in Q3. The Galaxy S III and Note II will definitely lead the way in sales, with the S III managing sales of 5.5 million units in October alone.

As for Samsung's lesser-popular smartphones, such as the WP8-running Ativ S, or the Bada lineup, we don't expect them to have a significant impact on the final figures."
