  As a member of an online EMEA software engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for systems analysis & design and implementation of 3 tier Java technology solutions which support worldwide web based products and services. These services are available to and generate revenue from customers in multiple countries and time zones. The candidate will also be responsible for liaising with other developers in the US, Japan and Europe, along with external developers from third party partners.

  Experience Required For Position
  2-4 years experience of coding high availability web based software systems (e.g. customer facing web applications, registration and authentication systems, personalization systems, e-commerce and shopping basket technology, email delivery or messaging)
  2-4 years working in a professional software / internet development company.
  2-4 years development and delivery of online products or services that are customer facing.
  2-4 years experience with Java Web Technologies such as JSP, Servlets, JavaMail, JDBC, web services, Java web applications.
  2-4 years experience of using Relational Database Technology.
  2 years exposure and practice in all areas of the software development life cycle. (Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing, Maintenance).
  Proven Track record of software development and delivery.
  Complete understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  Experience working in an environment where the candidate is required to perform outside of the role of a programmer (e.g. meeting customers, gathering requirements) is a distinct advantage.

  Technology Experience
  Operating systems: Windows XP Professional, UNIX, Linux Red Hat
  Programming: JSP, JSP tag libraries, MVC Frameworks, Servlets, XML, (X)HTML, JDBC, SQL, web services.
  Application Containers: IPlanet, Tomcat, Weblogic, JBoss
  Java Software Development Environment: Eclipse
  Version control systems (e.g. Microsoft VSS, Perforce)

  Advantageous Experience
  Programming: Experience with Spring frameworks is an advantage
  Relational Database Technology MSSQL
  Experience working within an agile development environment

  Specific Skills Required

  Highly skilled and experienced J2SE/J2EE/JEE programmer
  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  Excellent written and spoken English
