Developer for .Net WPF GUI framework

The Morgan Stanley Enterprise Application Infrastructure group develops reusable solutions, library’s and framework used in systems throughout the bank. We also provide consultation and design advice to development teams. The Morgan Stanley .net team is the part of this organization concentrating on the Microsoft .net environment.
Responsibilities:
• We are seeking an enthusiastic committed and productive .net C# developer to focus on our efforts in designing and implementing the next generation of trading application .net GUI framework and shell. This will be a system that replaces existing application shells and GUI frameworks and allows integration of development efforts across multiple trading desktop applications.
• There will be substantial challenges including bridging old application frameworks into the new framework while in parallel creating a clean efficient API for new code.
• You will need to deal with aspects of layout, persistence, inter-component communication, inter process communication, integration testing and remote administration.
• We will be focusing on both end user experience and delivering a solid and easy to use API for future development of applications by Morgan Stanley .net developers.
• Our intention is to develop this using WPF and other .net 3.5/4.0 aspects, we are already working closely with the Microsoft Prism team be able to use aspects of this in the new interfaces.
• The .net team you will be part of has experience back to the pre-beta days of .net, we have worked closely with Microsoft and are on 2 of their external design committees including Prism.Skills Required:
• Strong .net C# rich application design and development experience.
• We will require good experience in one (or more) of the following areas winforms,WPF or Silverlight and be willing to develop deep extensive WPF knowledge.
• You are able to deliver quality, robust API libraries and frameworks that other developers are happy to use.
• Good communication skills are an essential part of collecting and understanding requirements from developers working in all regions.
• You are naturally very technical and curious. You dig beneath the surface to understand how things work, why they are a certain way and what the design trade-offs were.
• You take the initiative to propose ideas and air concerns, to take technical ownership to drive the areas you work on.
• You want to work with other bright-motivated people, contribute to technical discussions, and continue to learn more.Skills desired:
• Additional skills that would be useful include with WCF, Winforms, WPF, Silverlight.
