You must be right since although
the system connected and browsed
for a while the next day it refused again
to browse after connecting. It's all a bit odd. For example I often have to do a soft reset to be able to connect at all.
It would be great if one day manufacturers could put in some software that let you know why
it was failing to do something, or better still just test the whole system so they they know all
its quirks before they start selling it. Plane makers wouldn't get away with this.I'm off to Japan tomorrow for a few weeks and will be interested to see if the 3G will
connect to the network there which is actually the reason I bought the i900 in the first place. Will update you if you are interested.

Thanks for your comments. I downloaded Netfront v3.5.
I then accessed the web after connecting to the BT Voyager
from which I have previously been unable to surf the web
despite being connected.Netfront however allowed me to browse with no problems
then when I tried IE and Opera which came with the i900
these worked too with no problems.I have since done a soft re-start several times and can now access the
web with no problems.Perhaps Netfront has introduced some new settings which have
unblocked the problem? So thanks Bocha very much for your help

Well, it seems to be a router setting, not a browser problem. But U'd easily check out the second version, try browsing with Opera or download any third party browser application (netfront, etc.), maybe IE is wrong.
If not, U'd check out what IP address the i900 got. I think 192.168.x.y'd be the good version, but in some cases, ppc's got 169.x.y.z, but that's not an ip for internet browsing. Check out DHCP settings first. -

I have a Samsung i900 which connects to the internet fine via a local unsecured
wireless network. However when I try to connect via my home BT Voyager network
the phone says connected to the network but IE will not connect to the internet and allow me to use the IE browser. The i900 recognises all the security settings on the Voyager (WPA-PSK and TKIP) and I am quite sure I have inputted the correct network key as I have tried this many times.
I have checked the settings on the Voyager router and there seems no reason why
the i900 should not be able to browse. I should add that two laptops I have both connect via wireless and browse the net with no problem.I have been unable to find out from Samsung what I should do about this. BT is not much help either. There must be something in the browser or router settings that is not correct. I should add that an Eten Glofish X500+ has the same problems connecting to my home router.
Has anyone got any idea? I would be very grateful for some guidance on this..
Lastly I find the i900 very flaky at connecting to networks. Often it just sits there saying connecting but never making it to connected. I can usually get round this with a soft re-set but surely this shouldn't be necessary.
Thanks for any help Delboy
