  SCM Software Engineer

  Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities:
  Nokia Siemens Networks is the world’s specialist in mobile broadband. The R&D site in Budapest is the base for its Mobile Switching Center development, that is connecting voice calls on any radio technology from GSM, to LTE. Our global experts invent the new capabilities our customers need in their networks.   Software Configuration Management (SCM) Engineer is responsible for managing SCM Services, i.e. identifying the configuration of the software, systematically controlling changes, and maintaining the integrity and traceability of the configuration throughout the software lifecycle. SCM Engineer will support and continue to optimize the build process, recognize and repair compilation problems, research and recommend new build and deployment technologies.

  Requirements:
  • MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Active and independent problem solver
  • Proactive attitude
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate and co-operate with other people in various situations
  • Strong analytical skills are important advantage
  • C or TNSDL experience
  • 2+ years of working experience

  Advantages:
  • Linux environment and system tools knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of how a program binary is built (preprocessing, compilation, linking) and deployed/installed (ISO, RPM, etc)
  • Experience in Software Configuration Management area and Continuous Integration
  • Java knowledge
  • Scripting languages (bash, Perl, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of SVN
