  Senior Java Developer for Commerce Model Services Team
  For our Budapest Office

  Morgan Stanley Commerce Model Services team is looking for a senior software developer to work on an enterprise wide solution for front-to-back execution of all pre and post trading businesses such as Sales, Trading, Risk, Operations, Control Functions and Finance. The global dynamic team is tasked to deliver on this strategic initiative a solution that will be the foundation for the many future business applications of the firm.

  We are looking for a well-rounded developer who knows how to create robust high-volume production applications and can also develop prototypes quickly.

  All team members must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding, good communication skills, and most of all enthusiasm for tackling complex problems.

  RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to:
  • Write server-side code for both FICC and Equities trading applications. You should also have a strong understanding of, and practical experience with, Java service oriented development.
  • Build internal systems used by several sales and trading front-end applications globally with your domain expertise in trading systems, exchange/vendor connectivity.
  • Build our trading services platform, connectivity infrastructure using your strong background in distributed systems, messaging, network system design and large scale systems
  • Participate in design and code reviews.

  Skills Required:
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
  • Extensive programming experience in Java with some practical knowledge of C++ (strong OO skills preferred).
  • Extensive design, programming and debugging experience of multi-threaded, high throughput, robust and scalable systems.
  • Experienced in large systems software design and development process, with good knowledge of Unix/Linux.
  • Fast learner, lots of enthusiasm and be able to work well in groups.

  Skills Desired:
  • Application Servers, Distributed cache such as EHCache, Spring Framework or any other SOA framework, Hibernate, Portals, Web Servers, FIX protocol, XML-RPC, Web Services and JMS.
  • Coding skills in Scala/Python or any other scripting language and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming are a plus.
  • Experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit.
  • Working knowledge of open source software such as Spring, Rules Engines, Hibernate, and FIX4J will be a big plus.
