Ha már így beleszaladtam, ezt még Stacey Spears irta, amikor az új dolby vision lemezéről kérdeztem.

For MEL it is 10-bit 4:2:0. For FEL the base layer and enhancement are 10-bit 4:2:0. In all profiles but 5 this is YCbCr. In profile 5 it is ICtCp.
The enhancement layer is just data, not real picture info. When combined with the base they claim to recover the full 12-bit. Unclear if that is 4:2:0 or 4:2:2.
You can send in what some have called display led or player led. Player led sends HDR12. The output of the Dolby engine is always 12-bit even if the base layer is 10-bit 4:2:0.
TV led is sent as 8-bit RGB (tunneled) but it is really 12-bit 4:2:2. This was their method to push HDR through legacy devices by pretending to be 8-bit RGB. Same number of bytes as 12-bit 4:2:2.
    Hope that makes sense.
We are using MEL on our new disc for all Dolby Vision
