  Hurricanes dont blow away every house every year. Only a small small %. Also houses in hurricane prone areas have different building codes. They are designed to brace hurricane winds. Some houses in hurricane risk areas will have a steel frame or or concrete load bearing walls.

  The problem is when hurricanes hit non hurricane prone areas. Then you sometimes see every single house flattened because they literally are made of just wood.

  But thats where insurance policies come in. Building a small % of houses twice or three times is cheaper than building every single house super expensive"
