    legyen boldog a nep ;)

More good news for all Intel users. Originally Intel's upcoming quad-core Kentsfield processor was supposed to work with only 975X chipset series, but now P965 will also support quad-core CPUs. Now here's the tricky part, you won't be able to run Kentsfield with only BIOS upgrade as it was for the Conroe CPUs. Besides VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) 11.0, Kentsfield also requires a set of GTLREF Voltage Dividers containing 124 Ohm Pull Up Resistor and a set of 210 Ohm Pull Down Resistor with 1 uF capacitor, which are used to connect pin G10 and F2 of the processor. Not all P965 motherboards have this PCB design, so they can't support quad-core Kentsfield processors. For those manufacturers who used 975X based design to make P965 products, fortunately, there is no need of redesigning to give support. However, users have to ask whether their new P965 board supports Kentsfield before buying.

    Play nice!
