  vazz: Way number (depending upon manufacturer also k-number) is a term from the vehicle and propulsion technology.
  
  The way number describes a relationship between the revolutions of a Tachowelle to a put back distance. This depends again on the wheel size and the translation to the drive shaft and/or to the Tachowellenantrieb. The way number is indicated, e.g. as value on old mechanical Tachos. W=715 means 715 revolutions of the Tachowelle for 1000 put back meters. With other manufacturers k is used here instead of W.
